This page explains some of the words I use on Quietly Neurodivergent in plain English. You do not need to memorise anything – it’s here if and when you want to look something up.
On most articles, you can hover over or tap on highlighted words to see a small popup with the same definition. The explanations here describe how I’m using these terms on this site. They are not full medical or legal definitions, and they are not a substitute for professional advice.

ADHD
“ADHD” is a condition where attention, activity levels and impulse control work differently, often making focus, organisation and time management harder.

Accommodations
“Accommodations” (or “reasonable adjustments”) are changes to tasks or environments that make things more accessible, such as flexible deadlines or quieter spaces.

AuDHD
“AuDHD” means a person who is both autistic and has ADHD, so they experience a mix of traits from both.

Autistic
“Autistic” describes a person whose brain processes social interaction, communication and sensory input differently from the expected norm.
